Rob Vlach is a Glenn County native who grew up on his family farm west of Orland. He graduated from California State University, Chico in 2001, earning a B.S. degree in Agriculture. He began his career with the Natural Resources Conservation Service working as an intern in the Susanville Field Office. Upon graduation he transferred to the Butte County Field Office, as a Rangeland Management Specialist. In 2006 he accepted his current position as District Conservationist in the Willows Field Office. As the District Conservationist he supervises the organizations programs and services. He credits NRCS success in the county to his outstanding staff, and partnerships, which makes his job easy.
In Rob’s personal time he is very active in the community, serving as chairman of Glenn County Water Advisory Committee, Director on Glenn County Farm Bureau, as well as a member of the Friends of the Fair Board. He is passionate about agriculture and ensuring the farming and ranching community has access to the tools necessary to make their properties profitable and sustainable. He is an avid free diver and enjoys spending time on the North Coast in search of trophy Abalone and rock fish. He raises beef cattle in Orland with his wife Lisa, daughter Alexis, and sons Ty and Luke.
